Clothing Collective Charity Strategy 2026-2030

OUR STRATEGY

Clothing poverty affects hundreds of thousands of people across the UK, yet it remains one of the most overlooked social issues of our time. This strategy sets out how Clothing Collective is working to change that over the next few years.

Our Vision

Our vision is that nobody in the UK should lack the clothing they need for everyday life. We want clothing poverty to be a thing of the past, and to see a reduction in unwanted clothing ending up in landfill.

Our Mission

Through our voucher scheme - which gives people the means to choose and collect clothing themselves - and our partnerships with charity shops and other organisations, we provide access to clean, quality clothing for those who need it most.

We do this in a sustainable way that gives individuals genuine choice, rebuilds their sense of dignity, and generates valuable funds for the charity shops in our network.

Our Strategic Goals

We will be looking to achieve the following:

  • Triple our income over the next four years.

  • Increase awareness of Clothing Collective and of clothing poverty as a significant and often overlooked issue in the UK.

  • Build our network of partners and volunteers.

  • Improve how we collect and use data - including evidence of the difference we make.

Our Priorities

Based on our goals, this is where we are focusing our efforts:

  1. Generating income from fundraising (and other revenue streams) to help us provide immediate support to more people.

  2. Developing strategic partnerships to help provide long-term sustainable funding.

  3. Providing access to credible data, insights and information on our website, as an easy go-to resource and authority on clothing poverty.

  4. Recruiting volunteers or staff to assist in the development and sustainability of the charity.

  5. Building our impact evidence to demonstrate the effectiveness of our model.

Our Values and Behaviours

As a charity we look to follow these values and behaviours:

  • Resourcefulness - We recognise the wealth of resources already available in society and find creative ways to put them to good use, rather than duplicating what already exists.

  • People-centred -We see the talent, knowledge and lived experience of the people around us as one of our greatest assets and actively look for ways to involve and empower them.

  • Collaborative - We work with partners, charity shops and other organisations in a spirit of genuine partnership, because we know that together we can reach more people and create lasting change.

  • Dignity - Everything we do is designed to ensure that people accessing support feel respected, valued and in control of their own choices.
