Now is the time of the year where thoughts turn to what you want to do more (or less) of over the next 12 months.
And whilst we know that many people struggle to stick to a resolution (remember all those gym memberships?), we believe that if you have a goal of helping others, then you're far more likely to keep them going.
2023 was a difficult year for many. We saw some worrying research released by Shelter that showed at least 309,000 people in England were going to spend Christmas without a home, including almost 140,000 children. This was up by 14% (38,100 people) in just one year.Â
It's likley 2024 will be equally challenging, however there are some ways in which we can all help.
As a charity, our continued aim is to provide clothing to people in need. We do this by using money donated to fund gift cards that people in need can exchange for clothing in charity shops.
Here's four simple ideas for new year's resolutions that will help us in our mission:
1. Take part in an event
We have partnered with RunForCharity to give you access to over 750 events across the UK. By choosing us as the charity to raise fund for, we then benefit directly from that. And unlike with other charities, event registration is free.
Find out which events are coming up in your area in 2024 here: https://www.clothingcollective.org/events
2. Donate clothes via reDONATE UK
Having a clear-out of your unwanted clothing is not only going to give you more space and less clutter, but you can also help us in the process.
We have partnered with reDonate UK, who run a brilliant service collecting unwanted clothes from your doorstep.
Simply go through your wardrobe, drawers and cupboards, bag them up and use reDonate's website to arrange collection.
3. Use one of our online shopping partners
Online shopping is part of most peoples' everyday lives now. But did you know you can actually help benefit us when you do it?
We have partnerships with a number of services, including the likes of: eBay, Ziffit, DontSendMeACard, The Giving Machine, Recyle4Charity and Bark.

Simply choose one, click through to their website and then we will benefit.
4. Set-up a regular donation
We know that times are tough for many, however if you do feel that you are able to give some money on a regular basis, then this will really make a difference to the impact we can make.
Through our online donation service, you can select to give regularly, choose how often to give and the amount.
It's simple to do and will only take you a few minutes.
Whatever you choose for your resolutions this year, we wish you good luck with them!
